My name is Joergen Traun (Jørgen Traun) and I am an artist. My focus is on composing, playing, and producing music. I have a passion for making high quality music and sound productions with personality. On this web page you can see some of my current projects, the Shark Sound Studio as well as some of the things I have done in the past.
----------------------------
Adjenda is a band formed by Kim Jensen and Me. Adjenda evolved in the studio during a very inspiring creative process between us. In Adjenda both Kim and I compose and produce everything together. Our first album "Soulhead" is finished. So If you like to hear the album and to know more please visit our homepage. www.adjenda.com
----------------------------
Limpopo is a project I've made in collaboration with Joachip Michaelis and Henrik Knudsen. The idea behind this project is to compose and produce dub music heavily inspired by African music. In Limpopo we combine electronic and acoustic instruments to create our own unique sound. When we have something ready, there will be a link on this page.
----------------------------
Is my new solo project. My idea is to make a more impulsive project than Adjenda and Limpopo. At the moment I do not know what kind of music it's gonna be. I will properly start making tracks for Eque wery soon.
----------------------------
I made the Shark Sound Studio to benefit my needs for making music. The Shark Sound Studio is well equiped, and the equipment in the studio has been hand chosen by me to achieve my chalenges. In the Shark Sound Studio I compose and produce my music. and I also do some recording, mixing and mastering as well as some sounddesign.

The Indigo Redback is one of my favorite synthesizers. Not only does it make stunning good emulations of old analog synthesizers, it does also have a lot of new possibilities like polyphonic saturation with Lo-Fi, Shaper, Rectifier and more. Matrix modulation on internal FX and Internal audio routing Is also quite unique. The Indigo Redback have a sound of its own which I like a lot.
----------------------------
The MoPho is a small Portable Analog matrix synth. The signal path is 100% Analog. ItŐs a very snappy synth and the sound is tight and dynamic with character close to it's predators. It has a build in step sequencer with the ability to use 1/4 notes among other things. In my humble opinion this small and good sounding analog synth is a hit. But do your own judgement
----------------------------
Logan: Piano Strings Sythezicer
This Italian synthesizer from 1978 is a classic string-synthesizer with a characteristic sound almost similar to its predecessors, the Arp Solina Stringer and the Eminent Organs String Section. In comparison to these the Piano String Synthesizer sounds warmer and richer. I simply love the sound of this machine.
----------------------------
The JV-1080 is one of the most used synthesizers in the studio. I use it a lot especially on the Adjenda album Soulhead. Even though it is PCM based, it has a lot of synth power. Good sounding multimode filters with serial and parallel connections, polyphonic boost, ring mod, FXM, and matrix modulation are some of the things that make this machine a killer synth.
----------------------------
In my opinion Roland's best bass synth ever. The PWM on the SH-2 sounds fat and the flange sound when the two oscillators is detuned a little is very distinct. The filter is Roland like but do sounds better and more tight at low frequencies than any other filter they have made.
----------------------------
The FS1r is my secret weapon. This rare synth is Yamaha's most flexible FM synth ever. It is patch compatible with the old 6 operator FM synths from Yamaha. But the FS1r do sounds more modern than the old Yamaha FM Synths. Every time I make sounds on this synths I realize that it is the land of possibilities. The FS1r do have a sound of it own witch I like a lot
----------------------------
Drawmer: 1968 Mercenary Edition
High-end analog hardware compressors is the best and the Drawmer 1968 Mercenary Edition is no exception. ItŐs a Soft knee Moss-Fet compressor with Vacuum tubes and is designed for heavy compression but is also very good when used light. The Drawmer 1968 Mercenary Edition is a very flexible and I like it a lot.
----------------------------
Electro Harmonix: Small Stone EH4800 Phase Shifter
The Small Stone have a character of its own. It is a very fat sounding phaser with a straight forward user interface two colors and a variable rate. The Small Stone Phaser is a guitar pedal but I tend to use it on strings and and sound FX
----------------------------
I like the way the Kaoss Pad KP3 works. It is a hand on soundfx/sampler where chaos is the creative approach. It has a huge amount of effects and a sampler all accessible via USB. I find the KaossPad KP3 very inspiring every time I use it.
----------------------------
The Gold Mike Mark 2 is a very good sounding dual class A microphone pre-amp with line and instrument inputs. The Gold Mike Mark 2 do have some interesting possibilities. It's a dual transistor and tube pre-amp with the option to overdrive either the tube or the transistor. It has a limiter and a unique function is called flair. I also use the Gold Mike Mark 2 on recorded material to give tracks more saturation.
----------------------------
One of my favorite delay machines, the D-Two is a programmable tab delay machine with dynamic control, Spatial, Reverse, LPF, HPF, Chorus/Flanger and Ping Pong. This delay machine can do things you cannot hear on any other delay machine.
----------------------------
I felt in love with this microphone when I used it on my own voice. The SolidTube do have a warm and clear sound with a distinct tube character. The Solid Tube is also good on other mid range instruments like guitar and percussion.
----------------------------
The best plug-in synthesizer I have tried so far. Unfortunately it is a Logic Instrument only. In Sculpture sound generation is based on an advanced sonic model of a vibrating string. It is a very organic and dynamic sounding plug-in with lots of creative unique possibilities.
----------------------------
This plug-in is a high quality reverb. It is very transparent and colorless and has the some of the same qualities as the best hardware reverbs. The definition of depth in this reverb is second to none the best I've heard so far. ArtsAcoustic Reverb is the main reverb used on Adjenda album: Soulhead. And it will be used a lot on my future projects.
----------------------------
The ELS Vocoder is one of the best sounding and most flexible digital Vocoder I have heard and used so far. The character is very close to an analog vocoder but the ELS Vocoder do also have its own vocoder sound. I like the ELS Vocoder a lot especially when used on drum tracks.
----------------------------
Native Instruments (NI): Kontakt 2
Kontakt 2 is the first software sample I liked. The first serious software sampler for those like me who use samplers for custom made sounds. Kontakt 2 has a huge amount of editing possibilities including selecting zones using midi notes instead of using the mouse which I like a lot. The user-interface is not perfect but good enoug for serious use.
----------------------------
Probably the most used plug-in in the studio. The Oxford EQ is a very musical precision tool and unlike almost all other digital EQ's I have tried it does have the same kind of precision as a high-end analog EQ. It is my preferred EQ for removing unwanted frequencies.
----------------------------
I started making and playing music when I was 9 years old. Back then I got a organ at my 9th birthday. The Idea of making my own production of my music started in 1986. Since then I have ben involved in several projects. Blue Snow (1986 - 1995) Big Red Lobsters (1992 - 1997) Blue Snow remakes of old tracks (1998 - 1999) Neotek (2000 -2006) Interface (2001 - 2002) Jingles to The Voice (2002) Workmann (2002 - 2007)
----------------------------
In 1986 I formed Blue Snow with my friend Steen Egedius. We were both huge fan of electronic music from that time and we decided to make our own project. Later on Louise Henningsen joint us as a singer and Peter Hassenkam as a keyboard player and composer. In the beginning we used a 8-Track tape recorder, a couple of synths, a drum machine and a delay fx. Later on we got more fx, a midi sequencer, several samplers, more synths, drum machines and we also used a fretless bass and guitars.
----------------------------
When Neotek re-started in 2000 I joint as one of the new members. In the beginning it was a co-operation between eight members, later on the band was reduced. Neotek was a great learning process for me. The skills I achieved and developed in Neotek is still very usefully for me in my current project. In Neotek I made several tracks in cooperation with other band members that I am still very proud of.

In the past I have been involved in several project where have made the graphic user interface. Beside this web page you are using right now here is a list of some of the things I have made: Waver Composer SP-Enulator Photo Pages www.kaimorecords.com www.arkstudio.com
